PMA 2010 News - This information is based on unofficial info. According to a source who is to so to speak ‘active in the imaging industry’, and backed up with a product image scoop from the photorumors site we inform you about an upcoming Pentax megazoom camera. At the PMA 2010 the new Pentax X90 will be showcased. The Pentax X90 camera will feature an upgraded 26x optical zoom lens with wide angle to super telephoto range. Its predecessor, the Pentax X70, featured a 24x coverage. The Pentax X90 is a typical megazoom camera, SLR-like styling and flexible in its functions and settings. You may speak of a bridge between a compact and a DSLR camera, although the Micro Four Thirds cameras are on its way to fill that gap.

The PMA show, or Photo Marketing Association, continues its yearly tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2010 Trade show focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the 2010 PMA International Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim Convention Center (California, US).
