The PMA introduction of the EXILIM EX-Z29 at the PMA 2009 does not seem to be the top of Casio's business. Casio took along its latest series of EXILIM digital cameras, among which were the small speed devils that were introduced at the CES show. The Casio booth seemed somewhat empty, and the speed at which you can shoot with a Casio EXILIM demonstrated is outstanding, but by now, I've seen it all. Speed is a nice feature, but what does it actually do in practice? The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX1 digital camera should be a great example to Casio. A new Megazoom camera at which the speed is used to capture neat panorama pictures with astonishing ease.

Casio Exilim Z29

Casio introduces the latest addition to its stylish series of Exilim digital cameras, the Exilim Zoom EX-Z29. This newest member of the Exilim line features a stylish, slim and compact design to increase portability, and provides an improved 10.1 megapixels of image resolution with 3X optical zoom. The Casio Exilim Z29 stays true to the user-friendly features that have become standard to the Exilim Zoom series. The 2.7-inch wide LCD display enables users to easily navigate camera operations and enhance the review of images, while the 23 Best Shot Modes and face detection technology help users take high quality photos without having to adjust camera settings.

Casio Exilim EX-FS10

Casio is pleased to release the slim and compact High Speed Exilim EX-FS10 digital camera, featuring high-speed burst shooting faster than an SLR camera. The Casio FS10 is also equipped with high-speed movie functions that have been squeezed into this highly mobile camera. In this card-sized camera measuring just 3.8” wide x 2.3” high x .64” thin, Casio has packed a newly developed 3X optical inner-zoom lens and a 2.5-inch high-performance Super Clear LCD. This high-speed model boasts an effective 9.1-megapixel resolution and the Casio Exilim FS10 can take up to 30 shots per second of high-resolution 6.0-megapixel images.

Designed to fit the concept of “Sleek & Sturdy,” the Casio S5 has a compact form, measuring just 3.8” wide x 2.2” high x .7” thin. The edging that frames the body presents a light, casual feel, but at the same time gives the user the sense that this digital camera is tough and reliable. In addition, the camera color is not limited to a single hue. Rather, the control panel, frame, and rear casing boast contrasting colors, presenting a whole new idea in camera color schemes.

The PMA, or Photo Marketing Association, continues a long tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2010 focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention and Trade Show in the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, USA.
