Whereas in the past, large floor surfaces were needed to present all the Kodak products, nowadays the amount of square meters has decreased significantly, as has the actual amount of imaging products. The American giant, famous all over the world, a brand name that equals photography, is presented at the PMA 2009 Show in Las Vegas. as a manufacturer of digital photo frames, some photo finishing stations and several services in the field of imaging. Somewhere on the side of the booth, hidden among the frames, a row of Kodak digital cameras is showcased. The New Kodak cameras carry the once so renowned Kodak brand name.

Kodak Photo Contest

Posted by: Dennis Hissink Friday 1st, February 2008

Kodak launched the “Pricey Ink - You’re Fired!” Photo Contest. The contest, powered by Brickfish and inspired by Kodak’s appearance on The Celebrity Apprentice, invites people to submit a photo or video of their favorite “Knockout Kodak Moment” (a treasured personal memory). “With our relationship with Apprentice, NASCAR, and now Brickfish, we are encouraging consumers to experience Kodak’s inkjet value proposition first hand,” said Jeff Hayzlett, chief business development officer and vice president of Kodak. “The show and online contest allows us to reach current and potential customers with the ‘no compromise’ message - encouraging consumers to take a stand against high priced ink.”

Kodak at PMA 2007

Naturally Kodak couldn't fail to present themselves at this PMA 2007 show being a home player. The size of the Kodak booth at the Las Vegas convention centre was remarkably compact and therefore very well-organized. What used to surprise one in the old days, seems no longer the case and Kodak seem to have lost their former size as giant among the exhibitors. The digital compact cameras that had been introduced during the PMA were of course showcased on the docking stations that are nowadays looked upon as a standard. Striking is the new Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS digital camera with its inbuilt image stabilizer. Fortunately Kodak carries on with their trend of optical image stabilizers.

The PMA, or Photo Marketing Association, continues a long tradition of maintaining a network of photo imaging as well as the experience and know-how of the industry. The PMA represents 20,000 members from over 100 countries, who are all active within the imaging industry. As a reflection of the changes in the market, the PMA organization has also changed and has become more diverse. Nowadays, the member group consists of representatives coming from photo retail, manufacturers, commercial photo labs, professional sports and news photography, in addition to small album print suppliers and photo processing centers. The PMA 2010 focuses on an industry which is heavily affected by the unstable situation of the global financial economy. However, whether the latter will also stand in the way of the innovation and product introductions, remains to be revealed by the PMA International Convention and Trade Show in the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, USA.
